Cecile Willert Joins Pinchin as Senior Risk Assessor & Practice Lead

Pinchin is pleased to announce that Cecile Willert, B.A.Sc., P.Eng, has joined us as Senior Risk Assessor & Practice Lead for the Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation Group (EDR).

Experience

Cecile brings 29 years of experience to Pinchin, specializing in health and environmental exposure and risk assessment across Canada and internationally. She has particular expertise in risk management, contaminant fate and transport, and human and ecological toxicology related to emissions associated with the resource sector, industrial facilities, community wide impacts, and contaminated sites.

Cecile has a reputation for successfully seeing technically challenging brownfield sites through regulatory approvals processes, particularly in Ontario. She has undertaken risk assessments and developed risk management plans for numerous highly complex industrial sites with chlorinated chemicals, PCBs, petroleum products, radiological compounds, and inorganic chemicals, including many sites with free phase product or co-mingled plumes. Cecile has performed many peer reviews and regulatory reviews for provincial, federal, municipal and regional governments as well as private industry across Canada, in the US and internationally.

Professional Recognition

Cecile is a Qualified Person for Risk Assessment in Ontario (QPRA) and is well known in the environmental industry. She is a Director of the Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA) and co-chairs the Association’s Brownfield Committee. She has participated in several working groups with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE), the Netherlands Soil Partnership and other groups. She is frequently an invited speaker at conferences and university and college lectures. Cecile is also on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Canadian Brownfield Network.

Responsibilities

Based in Toronto, Cecile will be responsible for providing leadership to Pinchin’s risk assessment practice and projects for clients across Canada. She will support new and on-going business development opportunities, and will be directly involved in training, coaching, mentoring and personnel development of Pinchin’s risk assessment team.
