Neil Butler, New Director of Insurance Services (EDR)

Pinchin is pleased to announce that Neil Butler, B.Sc. (Env.), has joined us as Director of Insurance Services for the Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation  (EDR) Group.

Experience

Neil brings over 14 years of experience, providing technical and project management support on insurance claims and legal matters pertaining to the release of environmental contaminants. He specializes in managing complex assessment and remediation projects with multiple stakeholders including property owners, insurance adjusters, claims managers, legal counsel, and government agencies.

Neil has provided management and technical support during peer review of forensic assessments, selection of remediation methods, consultant’s duty of care, and overall cost management. In a business development capacity, Neil has been responsible for developing and servicing insurance-related clients in Ontario.

Education and Professional Recognition

Neil has an honors Bachelor of Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph. He has taken post-graduate courses in project management and technical writing at Ryerson University, and completed an executive business leadership program at the Queens University Executive School of Business.

Neil is a member of the Canadian Oil Heating Association’s Advisory Committee, focusing on the reduction of costs associated with residential fuel oil losses. He has been an invited lecturer for many undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Guelph and University of Toronto.

Responsibilities

Based in Toronto, Neil will be responsible for providing leadership to Pinchin’s Insurance Services Team in Ontario and across Canada. Neil will support new and ongoing business development opportunities, and will be directly involved in training and mentoring Pinchin’s environmental assessment and remediation team.
