Ahmed Alyousif is Pinchin’s new Director for the Building Science & Sustainability (BSS) Group in the GTA Region. He joins us after having spent the past twelve years in the construction industry while attaining his PhD in Structural Engineering from Ryerson University. In addition to his studies, he made sure to garner as much hands-on experience as possible to round out his expertise. Responsive, flexible, and possessed of a keen eye for problem solving, Ahmed prides himself on his ability to adapt quickly and innovate on any project.
When Ahmed first dipped his toe in the waters of civil engineering, he found himself gravitating toward building science and restoration engineering. Shortly after becoming a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), he was hired as a Building Restoration Specialist and quickly moved up the ranks until he accepted a Project Management position. From there, Ahmed earned his title as Manager for the Building Science & Restoration Engineering Division at a well reputed consulting firm. During this time, he conducted a Facility Condition Assessments and managed restoration projects for residential, institutional and industrial buildings.
By the time Ahmed joined Pinchin as Regional Director of BSS, he’d already made a name for himself in the industry. He is a proud member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), and the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC). In addition to his engineering studies, Ahmed holds a Master of Science in Materials of Construction from Eastern Mediterranean University. Given his expertise in building retrofitting, Ahmed has long been a trusted advisor in the public sector and condominium management community.
In his capacity as Regional Director of the BSS Group, Ahmed’s primary focus is the expansion and growth of Pinchin’s Building Science capabilities across the GTA. He is responsible for the financial and administrative management of the Group, providing project oversight and mentorship to all BSS Group members. This includes the maintenance and enhancement of quality control measures for these services. Ahmed is best able to direct and oversee the evaluation and assessment of various building components; the preparation of rehabilitation program specifications and tender documents; and the implementation of a project from concept to completion. As a result of his efforts and expertise, Pinchin is better able to manage our BSS clients in the GTA region and can successfully and efficiently complete more projects.
